The thinking, design and creative application of technology to our clients' online projects is developed solely by the team at Panoptic.

Richard Kauffman, Principal

Richard Kauffman is, most likely, the first person you'll meet from Panoptic. Rick will help you isolate your online objectives and provide all the resources and guidance you'll need throughout the project.

Richard holds a BFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, and an MFA in Photography from SUNY, in Buffalo, NY. Richard taught photography, design and art history at Lake Placid School of Art, where he chaired the Photography Department. He later served on the faculties of SUNY, Albany and Plattsburg, as well as Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia. Richard's photographs have been published extensively in some of the country's most prestigious books and magazines. He partnered with Pat Duci in 1985 to form ArtAttack Studios. As web design and development began to dominate their assignments, Richard and Pat launched Panoptic Communications in 1994. Richard has directed many computer/graphic design seminars, and is the past president of the Board of Directors, Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

Patrick Duci, Principal

Patrick Duci is responsible for the creative supervision of each assignment and guides the visual design from initial concept through deployment of your online project.

Pat graduated from Temple University's Tyler School of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design. Pat's marketing communications experience was honed at Ziff-Davis Publications (TV Guide, Car & Driver, Psychology Today) and at many of the leading advertising agencies in Philadelphia. Strong conceptual thinking and meticulous execution is reflected in Pat's design work in both electronic and print formats. From corporate identity programs to web sites, from consumer and trade advertising to intranet projects, from direct mail to extranet assignments, Pat's experience and design skills are clearly evident in every Panoptic online solution.

Charlie Hoey, Developer

Charlie Hoey is the newest face at Panoptic and will be the one under the hood writing the code that drives your web presence.

He is a recent graduate of Temple University, where he majored in Film and Media Arts. His senior thesis film, Overhandled Taste Buds, won Derek Freese Film Foundation awards both for outstanding screenplay, and best overall film at the Diamond Screen Festival. Working on projects as varied as building a machine that writes beatnik poetry to designing interactive media for Violet Fire, an opera about inventor Nikola Tesla, Charlie strives to push the envelope with every job, and is eager to learn how to solve new problems.

Scott Mari, Designer

Scott Mari's varied background and extensive experience allow him to see projects with a unique clarity and to push for inspiring results with each assignment.

Scott Mari graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Integrative Arts, a combination of the fine arts with any other technical focus. Scott worked for an interactive branch of McCann Erickson Advertising in New York City for two years before moving to Philadelphia. His original designs and illustrations for Popsicle.com garnered him four 2001 International Web Page Awards, including Best In Show for the category of gaming sites for the Popsicle Summer Games. His recent work has moved him more into the world of interactivity with programs such as Flash, and programming for the web. Scott brings his aesthetic ideals, his love for design, and programming knowledge to all his assignments.

Nancy Kauffman, Office Manager

Nancy Kauffman is Panoptic's office manager and the glue that holds everything together. Although Panoptic is driven by its creativity and technological expertise, Nancy is the person who keeps things running smoothly.

Nancy graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from State University College of New York in Buffalo. For thirteen years, Nancy taught elementary school in Buffalo and Saranac Lake, NY. Nancy joined the staff at Panoptic in 1990 as Office Manager, and is charged with all of the company's administrative and financial responsibilities.
